The Early Childhood Program consists of Pre-Kindergarten for 3-year-olds and 4-year-olds and full-day Kindergarten classes for those who are five years of age by October 1st. The Academy offers a PreK-3 program with a half-day or a full-day option. PreK-4 students attend only a full-day program.
St. Bartholomew Academy preschool classes promote student engagement, development of critical thinking skills, and social interactions through routine, play, and inviting learning centers. Learning centers are used to foster collaborative learning, listening skills, role-playing, and sharing. The pre-school children encounter daily stimulating experiences and express their learning through multiple media, such as drawing, painting, construction, drama, the use of electronic tablets, and verbal/written expressions.
Academically, preschoolers develop phonological awareness, oral language, letter and word recognition, enhanced vocabulary, reading readiness and number sense. Preschoolers participate in special learning opportunities weekly in Music and STEM classes. They learn that Jesus is their friend and created the world that they live in.
